Preamble

Spirit of the law refers to ideas that the creators of a particular law wanted to have effect. It is the intent and purpose of the lawmaker, or framer of the Constitution, as determined by a consideration of the whole context thereof. Spirit of law is determined from the letters and the circumstances surrounding its enactment.

To interpret the spirit of the law, it is must to understand the sentence analysis of any written law which means to know about noun phrases, prepositional phrases (Adjective Phrases, Adverb Phrases) infinitive phrases, participle phrases, Appositive phrases, clauses (Independent clauses, Subordinate clauses), and their relations with each other, which are used in every sentence of any law.

This book is written for judges, Magistrates, Police officers Lawyers, and law students of Asian countries who have not English as a first Language.

As there are many examples of wrongly interpreted sections of the Laws, due to a lack of understanding of the Rules of English Grammar and composition, by Judges, Magistrates, Police Officers, Lawyers, Prosecutors who belong to Asian Countries, which resulted in the inefficiency, incompetency of individuals, and delays in having justice as per the Spirit of this Indian Penal Code, 1860;

The writer has analysed every sentence of the sections written in the Indian Penal Code, 1860, by the Rules of English Grammar and Composition.
